For as long as the galaxy could remember there was an order that protected it's people. The order was known forever as the guardians with only one group that could stand against it. It was on this planet that this order called a home, with an academy as glorious as their powers. It's here that the soft flow as brought you. A planet beyond description in beauty. As your ship draws closer you understand, this is your destiny.

Ossus, the planet he’d been searching for. One that had been theorized to no longer be more than a useless ball of dust. That had once been a planet of myths and legends. Stepping down the landing ramp from the freighter that he’d hired for this single expedition Asim took in a breath of fresh air. The fresh morning dew was apparent the scent filling his nostrils. Cutting through the forest canopy above bits of sunlight managed to penetrate the thick layer of foliage and beat down on Asim’s dark skin. The warmth was pleasant, almost craved after one had spent so long within a ship away from all forms of natural warmth. In a way the forest of Ossus reminded Asim of home. Even from the bottom of the ramp he could hear the sound of a nearby river.
Glancing down to the datapad within his hands Asim examined their coordinates, a digital map displayed on the screen. A digital map that was decades out of date. Looking to it and tapping lightly on the screen Asim tried to avoid the doubt that was worrying the back of his head. The thought that he’d wasted what few funds he’d had left on an expedition that he wasn't sure of was concerning the young Kiffar. Behind him walking out the ship with the equipment that had been bought specifically for this mission was the crew of the vessel. If anything they looked like quite a group of ruffians, the owner of the vessel being a Duros named K’im, with his crew members being a Togruta and a Cathar. The group could be quite intimidating when they wished to be but at the same time they were also ones you’d want if things got dangerous on a planet such as Ossus. “Start setting up the equipment tent over there, that’s where the foliage is thinnest.” Asim commanded pointing to the Duros and the Togruta that were coming down the ramp with a large metallic tube. “Fire back up the ships scanners, get a reading on the area, see if there’s any wildlife in the area moving our way, how big and how fast.” Asim’s voice carried a deep baritone, it had strength behind it, a confidence born from years of striking out on his own. “And just what will you be doing while we busy ourselves with the work?” The K’im hissed at Asim from across the clearing. He and the other members of his crew were drabbed in light armor while Asim himself wore nothing but simple clothes, a black jacket over a blue shirt and black pants. Where K’im and his crew came armed with blaster rifles, Asim had nothing but a single blaster pistol and three vibrodaggers on his belt. “I will be doing what I do best.” Stepping over to a nearby tree Asim let his hand graze across its trunk, eyes closed as he took a deep breath and opened himself up to what he knew was coming. His people had an inborn talent, an ability that gave them visions, glimpses into the past and events that often went unseen by others. It was called psychometry. It was how Asim had found himself across the galaxy to this planet. Or was it something more guiding him here?Ashen Crucifere

The Kiffar was talented indeed, while the crew would do what they were asked, the Kiffar's talent would show him very simple images. How old these images were could not be made apparent, but there was something before the images came. A sense of utter calmness among the forest, as if everything was and always had been peaceful here. The planet itself seemed to welcome its new visitors with open arms, encouraging exploration, and the use of the river nearby. If this was a trick of some sorts, it could not be known.
Next came the images, two children, similar in description to the Kiffar, could be seen at the base of the tree. Together, they laughed and played with overly abundant joy clear to the Kiffar as the warmth he felt from the sun. There was something else about these kids that the Kiffar could feel even through the images, power, strength, and wisdom. While it might not seem to all, maybe even the Kiffar, some could say that was strange for children.
One point up to the tree, his mouth moving but there were no sounds coming from the words he spoke, if the Kiffar could read lips it would say something to the extent "Race you to the top.". With a simple leap, the child ascended two branches high, a feat in itself more than impressive as the second branch up was a good five meters high. The girl, who was clear to be upset by the sudden challenge with no clear warning jumped next, reaching the same branch with the same ease.
While this was happening in the mind's eye of the Kiffar, the Duros would have something on scanners.

One instant Asim was standing in the present and in the next there was a sense of calm that filled his being. A soothing presence overtaking the young man, a deep breath pulled in and the next time he opened his eyes Asim stared into a different time. Before him everything was laid out like a holofilm. There before his eyes drabbed in some sort of robes were two children playing, a delightful innocence about them. Yet along with that innocence came a strong sense of power that was off-putting. Asim could feel his heart hammering in his chest as he watched the children point up to the tree and in a single leap were able to clear distances that were far too high for the average child, even a well trained one at that.
Amazement filled Asim as he watched the children flee further and further up the tree challenging each other till he felt a heavy palm on his shoulder shaking him back and forth. Jerked from the vision and pulled back to the current Asim took in a large breath of air. The shift always jarring for the Kiffar when it was broken so forcefully. Looking over he saw the Cathar weapon at the ready a sense of nervousness about him. “What is it Skan?” Asim asked noticing the ways the Cathar’s eyes darted too and fro.
“K’im says he has something on the scanner.” The Cathar’s thick accented voice came out and hit the Kiffar like a truck where he had to strain to understand some of the words said. It made more sense now for them to be nervous, they were on a strange planet with no knowledge of the local fauna or flora that would possibly inhabit it. If what the scanner picked up was big and hostile it was better to be safe than sorry.
Looking back up the tree and beginning to worry his lower lip Asim looked back to the camp. “This is what we’ll do. Skan, get the others and set up one on the scanners and keep an eye on whats approaching. The other lift the ship up slightly and the last in one of the turrets. If the signal arrives you should be able to take it down.” Pulling out a vibroknife and looking up the tree to where the branches had once been they were now far larger the tree older than it had been before. “I have something to follow up on.”
Running forward placing one foot at the base of the tree and kicking off Asim propelled himself upwards a little, right arm outstretched as he dug the knife into the tree to catch himself. Planting his feet on the tree and bracing his body the Kiffar began the climb up. He could only wish to jump as high as the children had. With each pull the Kiffar’s muscles flexed, his shoulders rolling as he made his way further up the tree. Sweat pouring free as he reached the halfway point. By the time he’d reached the top, head poking above the canopy, feet braced between the thick branches Asim had a somewhat aerial view. Looking in every direction Asim looked to spot any structures near or far.

As the crew did what they could to prepare for the object caught on scanner, the Kiffar did his business. While his head poked from the top of the canopy, he would realize that the forest was much larger than anticipated. Getting anywhere would take a while on foot, but there was a object far in the distance. While it just looked like a mountain, there was still a hint of luster in what could be a metallic sheen. But it could be anything, and it was far off in the south. Maybe there was an easier way to get there?
